Diva Futura press conference.
On January 30, a photocall and press conference were held at the Hôtel de Ville in Rome to present the film Diva Futura, written and directed by Giulia Louise Steigerwalt and produced by Groenlandia.
Italy, 1980s-1990s. With his agency Diva Futura, Riccardo Schicchi revolutionized mass culture by transforming the hippie utopia of free love into a new phenomenon: pornography. Under his guidance, “girl-next-door” figures like Ilona Staller, Moana Pozzi, Eva Henger, and many others suddenly became world-famous stars, entering Italian households thanks to the boom of private television channels and VHS recorders. The term porn star, coined at the time, marked the beginning of a new era.
An impartial portrait, the film narrates the tragic arc of a group of characters who, while in some ways fought for freedom, paradoxically contributed through their work to normalizing something that ultimately goes against women’s freedom itself—the commodification of the female body. In this sense, it tells the story of a profound contradiction.
Cast: Pietro Castellitto (Riccardo Schicchi), Barbara Ronchi (Debora Attanasio), Denise Capezza (Moana Pozzi), Lidija Kordic (Ilona Staller), Tesa Litvan (Eva Henger).
